Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide)
Also known as: Niacinamide, Nicotinamide
Niacinamide supports skin barrier function, helps even skin tone, and maintains a healthy, radiant complexion. A skin-care staple that works from within.
What it is
Niacinamide is the gentle, non-flushing form of vitamin B3. It supports the skin's barrier — the outer layer that keeps moisture in and irritants out.
Why we use it
We use niacinamide in Beauty and Tanning Gummies because a stronger skin barrier tends to mean a more even, comfortable-looking complexion, which pairs well with our tan-support ingredients.
What the research generally suggests
Topical niacinamide is one of the more studied skincare actives for barrier support and tone; oral research is less extensive but points in a similar, generally supportive direction for skin health.
Typical amounts
Oral doses in supplements commonly range from around 5mg up to 50mg, well below levels used in some clinical (non-cosmetic) contexts.
In Flexies products: 5-50mg per serving.
Benefits
- Skin barrier support
- Even skin tone
- Reduced redness
- Texture refinement
Good to know
- • High-dose niacin (the flushing form) is different from niacinamide and can cause flushing — Flexies uses niacinamide specifically to avoid this.
- • If you're on cholesterol or blood pressure medication, mention any supplement changes to your GP.
As always, if you're unsure whether this ingredient is right for you, chat to your GP or pharmacist before adding it to your routine.
