    Biotin (Vitamin B7)

Also known as: Vitamin B7, Vitamin H

The OG beauty vitamin that helps your body build keratin, the protein that makes hair strong and shiny, nails hard, and skin glowing.

    What it is

Biotin (vitamin B7) is a water-soluble vitamin your body uses to help process fats, carbs and protein — including building keratin, the structural protein in hair and nails.

    Why we use it

It's one of the most requested ingredients for hair and nail goals, and it works alongside collagen, keratin and MSM in Beauty Gummies to support the same structural proteins from a few angles.

    What the research generally suggests

Research generally suggests biotin supplementation can help hair and nail strength in people who are actually low in it; for people who already get enough biotin from food, extra amounts likely won't do much more.

    Typical amounts

Supplement doses vary widely, from a few hundred micrograms up to 10,000mcg (10mg) or more in "mega-dose" hair products — most everyday formulas sit well below that ceiling.

In Flexies products: 5mg per serving.

    Benefits

    • Stronger hair
    • Nail growth
    • Keratin production
    • Healthy skin

    Good to know

    • High-dose biotin can interfere with certain blood tests (like thyroid panels), so mention any biotin supplement to your doctor before bloodwork.
    • If you're breastfeeding or pregnant, food-level amounts are generally fine, but check with your GP before high-dose biotin.

As always, if you're unsure whether this ingredient is right for you, chat to your GP or pharmacist before adding it to your routine.
